Here is a new head in the list of 23 Spanish players summoned for the League of Nations. Robin Le Normand, a 26-year-old French central defender recently naturalized, was summoned for the first time with La Roja this Friday to play the final phase of the League of Nations scheduled for June 14 to 18 in the Netherlands.

Born in Pabu, in the Côtes-d'Armor, and trained at the Stade Brestois, the Real Sociedad player, who obtained Spanish nationality on May 24, was called by coach Luis de la Fuente for the semi-final against Italy, on June 15 in Enschede. If successful, Spain would meet either the Netherlands or Croatia in the final on June 18. Robin Le Normand follows the same path as Aymeric Laporte, naturalized before Euro 2021. The latter, defender of Manchester City, has 20 caps in the Iberian jersey and is also part of the list.

The selection of Le Normand, who has been playing since 2016 at Real Sociedad (assured of 4th place in La Liga, qualifying for the Champions League), is anything but a surprise. Asked about the latter, Didier Deschamps replied: "It's his freedom. He made representations with the Spanish federation. Robin is one of the players who have an atypical career. We had been following him for quite some time. He's not a player who plays for a big European club, and he doesn't take up much space in the media space. He has been performing very well for several seasons. It is his choice. I wish him all the best with the Spanish team. An exit that did not please Real Sociedad who had published this tweet: "Humility is one of the qualities of champions. Real have already been champions and have great champions. »

Una de las características de los campeones ha sido la humildad. La Real ha sido campeona y ha tenido grandes campeones. Go Real, Go @LN_Robin! #WeareReal | #AurreraReala pic.twitter.com/UXn9qX4KjD

Note also the return of Juan Bernat in this list for the League of Nations. The PSG defender has not played for Spain since November 2019.
