Delusional. Richard Gasquet, 36, one of the oldest tennis players on the ATP Tour and ranked seventh in the world, was shocked to learn that his Twitter account was hacked on Thursday night, when the burglars posted a tweet in his name that initially startled users, but apparently one big fake.
"Today I excitedly announce my retirement from tennis after 20 years on the tour," the opening reads, "Now I will dedicate myself to my new project - 'Just an Egg.' I hope you give him the support he gave me, thank you."
That "project" is actually a Twitter page, which apparently makes a reference to the famous egg photo from Instagram that held the record for the most likes for a photo until Leo Messi's World Cup win photo arrived.
It is with emotion that I announce today my tennis retirement after 20 years on the tour. I will now devote myself to my new project @justaneggcoin. I hope you will give $EGG the same support you have given me. Thank you 🎾❤️🥚 pic.twitter.com/lp2fIOVOnp
