Saturday, May 27: without Nadal, Djokovic in Paris to make history
The Serb arrives in Paris without certainty about his game after a very average clay season, no title, a final lost to Rune in Rome and three defeats. Djokovic is all the more in the spotlight because with the absence of Nadal, injured, the Roland-Garros tournament can allow him to overtake the Mallorcan in the race for Grand Slam titles (the two men are tied with 22 titles). The third player in the world refuses to wear the label of favorite: "Rafa is not here this year, it is necessarily a great loss for everyone, because he is a big name in tennis. But it opens up a chance, an opportunity for the rest of us, to win a title because when he plays, he is the clear favourite in any competition. There is of course Alcaraz, which is number 1 in the world. He's certainly the biggest favorite in the tournament right now.
