Pep cried at the end
"We have an opportunity to do something historic and win the treble, and we don't want to miss it," said the evening's hero Gundogan. "I promise the fans that we will do everything to win in Istanbul. Winning a final is always special, and every trophy is special. We deserve it. We played very well, the second half was amazing. The second gate? The ball just came to me in a great way, it was a good kick."
On his future next season, the German said he will end his contract in the summer: "I don't need days like this to feel valued at this club. Nothing has been decided yet, we'll see what happens."

Jack Grealish complimented his midfield mate who scored the pair and also commented on the Champions League final: "An inexplicable feeling. The foreign players won't understand it, but as an English kid that's the dream. I lost one final at Aston Villa and I was eager to win one. The penalty? I don't know how to whistle at something like that, I didn't even look at the ball. Anyway, Gonodan saved me. This whole team has incredible talent, there is an extraordinary balance between experience and ability. I like this team very much, hopefully next week we win another final."
Erling Haaland already had his head in the Champions League final in Istanbul and declared in one sentence at the final whistle: "We got two, there is one left."
