Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone was interviewed over the weekend about his team's season and its future, but at the end of the long interview he was asked about lighter things, and jokingly said: A player who only has sex with his partner once a week is not worthy of playing for my team.
Simeone discussed the state of the team, the league and his future, but at the end of the interview he had time to answer some personal questions. The interviewer presented the 53-year-old Argentine with a statistic that says the average Spaniard has sex 56 times a year. Simeone replied: "56... 56 times a year... How much is it per month? Four per month? Four for a month, no.... With four times a month, you can't play for my team."

The response, of course, elicited laughter in the studio, and when interviewers asked Simeone if he himself averaged more, the coach replied: "15 times a month? I won't say... But we have a good average."
Simeone secretly married his model wife Carla Pereira in June 2019, and they have two daughters. From a previous marriage he has three children, all footballers. Last year, his ex-wife publicly stated that "our separation was in good spirit, I was the one who decided on the divorce" — and Simeone was publicly outraged that "she broke family codes" over the public disclosure.
