Darko Churlinov is said to have been in a hospital in Belgrade for three weeks. The former VfB Stuttgart and Schalke 04 player was even in mortal danger.
Belgrade/Stuttgart - It is a news that shocked. Professional soccer player Darko Churlinov is said to have been in a hospital in Belgrade (Serbia) for three weeks. The reason: As Sky reports, the former kicker of VfB Stuttgart and Schalke 04 suffers from blood poisoning.
What exactly happened is unclear. However, it is said that the winger was in Macedonia with his family when his condition suddenly deteriorated. As a result, he was apparently admitted to a Belgrade hospital, where he was in an intensive care unit for ten days. According to Sky, Churlinov was even in mortal danger in the meantime. Currently, the North Macedonian is doing better again, even if he continues to be cared for in the clinic.
Darko Churlinov: No breakthrough yet at Burnley
Churlinov is under contract with Burnley FC. However, he only got limited playing time there last season. He played seven times for the English second division club in the Championship. Things didn't go any better for the footballer in the cup competitions either, as he didn't score a single competitive goal in England.
Churlinov is said to be able to imagine a return to Schalke 04
Churlinov scored his only goal of the season for VfB Stuttgart. Although he moved from the Neckar to the island in the summer of last year, the winger still played for the Swabians in the DFB Cup and scored in the first round against Dynamo Dresden to make it 1-0.
Churlinov is said to be flirting with a return to Germany. However, not to VfB, but to FC Schalke 04 in the Ruhr area. There he was one of the promotion heroes as a loan player from Stuttgart and would also have liked to play in the Bundesliga for S04. But the Royal Blues did not want to afford the transfer fee demanded by VfB. It remains to be seen whether there will be a return now. After all, Churlinov must first get well again.
