The man on the lines. Hapoel Tel Aviv continues its renewal journey and appointed Michael Valkanis as the team's coach on Sunday. Valkanis, a Greek-Australian, 48, has finished his stint at Qatar's Asphire Acadamy, renowned for youth development. He has previously been on the sidelines at Australian Melbourne City and Adelaide United. He also served as an assistant coach for the Greek national team and the Dutch Zwolle.
Michael said after the signing: "I am excited about the opportunity given to me to be the coach of Hapoel Tel Aviv, to manage one of the most successful clubs in Israel with such a glorious history. This role will be a great challenge and an exciting opportunity for me, one that I look forward to. I promise that my team and I will give everything to help the players be the best version of themselves. By working hard and together, we will create special moments and return the club to its rightful place."
