For the first time ever in the history of football's oldest factory, the big Manchester derby will take place in the FA Cup final when champions City take on United at Wembley at 17pm, Sport00.

Both clubs have won the FA Cup only once in the last decade, with United winning 2016-1 over Crystal Palace in 2, while the Citizens dismantled Watford 0-6 in the 2019 final en route to an azure double under Pep Guardiola.
Pep Guardiola wants to complete his second career treble by winning the Champions League, but to do so he will need to beat Erik ten Hag's side who had a fairly successful debut season at Old Trafford. Despite the week separating the English champions' two important finals, Pep came up with his strongest line-up with Bernardo Silva, Ilkay Gundogan, Kevin De Bruyne and Jack Grealish behind Erling Haaland in an attempt to replicate the 3-6 from October and try to avoid a surprise defeat, as was the case in January with the Red Devils' 1-2 at Old Trafford. In goal, as always with Pep, will be co-goalkeeper Stefan Ortega.
On the other hand, the Dutch manager stated after United's season finale that "the goal is not to stop Manchester City, but to win the FA Cup." The Reds' last final was in 2018, when they lost 1-0 to Chelsea. With a successful fourth-place finish to the season and a return to the Champions League, United could complete a domestic cup double and Ten Hag is expected to assemble a quick attack looking to sting the champions. Alongside Marcus Rashford who started as a lone striker, Bruno Fernandes and Jadon Sancho have stepped up on the flanks, while the thickened midfield includes Christian Eriksen, Fred and Casemiro who had a terrific first season at the Theatre of Dreams. Anthony Martial and Antony are absent from the squad due to injuries.
Despite the draw against Brighton and the loss to Brentford with a secondary line-up in the final round, City arrive as clear favourites for the final that could lift them to sixth all-time in the competition with 6 wins to date, while the Red Devils have lifted the trophy 12 times - second only to Arsenal who have won 14 times.
