SG Baiernrain/Dietramszell confidently manages to advance to the district class against SV Krün. The 1-1 draw in Krün was followed by a 3-0 win on home turf.

Baiernrain/Dietramszell – Done! With a commanding 3-0 win against SV Krün, the Baiernrain/Dietramszell syndicate celebrates promotion to the district class. Eight years after relegation at the end of the 2014/15 season, when they lost to Lenggrieser SC II in the relegation, the kickers of TSV Dietramszell return to the higher league; it is a premiere for the players of SV Baiernrain-Linden.

The goal of "advancement" formulated three years ago

"We founded the syndicate three years ago with the aim of moving up. I'm pleased that it has now worked out," said Baiernrain's division manager Andreas Pallauf. "The team and the coach absolutely deserve it, for the work they have put in all year," said Dietramszell department head Dominik Sedlmayr. He also knew who was to thank for the sovereign appearance of the troupe. "That was a tactical masterstroke from our coach," said Sedlmayr.

Coach Foraterra's tactical musings succeed

SG coach Massimo Foraterra had decided, after two days of "tactical pondering how we can master this" and a lively exchange with the head of the department, to "sacrifice" a defensive player in order to take what he considered to be the game-determining player out of the game. The move succeeded. Benedikt Eichner did not allow Krüns Hubert Holzer to develop. "He gave himself the promotion for his birthday," Foraterra said happily.

In contrast to the 1-1 draw in the first leg, when his team had been very cautious for a long time, captain Peter Kanzler and Co. showed no fear of their opponents from the first minute in front of 350 spectators on their home turf at the Leonhardikirche. After two minutes, Maximilian Pertold hit the outside net of the Krüner goal. With the second shot on goal a little later, Seppi Kirmair aimed exactly at SV goalkeeper Constantin Lutz. After 22 minutes, cheers erupted for the first time on the spectator benches under the chestnut trees. Thomas Puscher, the linchpin of the SG game, had been fouled in the penalty area. Captain Chancellor converted safely to a 1-0 lead. Ten minutes later, he could have already made everything clear, but failed to hit the post.

Bernlochner's 2-0 win kicks off celebrations

The fans had to wait until the 57th minute before Alois Bernlochner increased the lead to 2-0 with a header after a cross from Kirmair, who had asserted himself energetically on the wing, and the Baiernrain and Dietramszell supporters were able to gradually prepare to celebrate. While the visitors came dangerously close to scoring only once with a Holzer header (60th), which flew well over the crossbar, the hosts failed several times to make the result even clearer in their favour: Puscher circled a flick against the crossbar (68th), substitute Sepp Streicher first kicked the ball from seven meters next to the goal (75th), then failed to defend the foot of the Krüner goalkeeper (80th) - before he marked the 3-0 final score with the last action of the game.

"We can be very satisfied today. The team did a great job tactically," said Massimo Foraterra, who admitted with a smile: "If we had lost today, I would have had to leave." "That's done now," beamed Dietramszell's football boss Sedlmayr. "And he totally deserves it: Massimo certainly has played the main part in today's success."
