Thomas Tuchel wants to lure Declan Rice to Munich. However, an English expert is convinced that the West Ham star will remain in the Premier League.
Munich – FC Bayern Munich are looking for a strong midfielder. Coach Thomas Tuchel's preferred player is Declan Rice from West Ham United. Recently, Tuchel and ex-Bayern board member Hasan Salihamidzic even met with the England international, a transfer seemed realistic. But English football expert Simon Jordan can't imagine Rice moving to Munich – and cites Tuchel as the reason.

Premier League expert Jordan: "Declan Rice is not going to Bayern Munich"
Jordan was the owner of what is now Premier League club Crystal Palace from 2000 to 2010, so he is well versed in English football. In the talkSPORT format, the 55-year-old also commented on the personnel of Declan Rice, who is likely to leave West Ham in the summer. Full of conviction, Jordan ruled out a transfer of the defensive midfielder to the German record champions: "Declan Rice is not going to Bayern Munich," said Jordan. Rice has "no reason to move to Bayern".
Bayern is a "fantastic" club, the businessman told talkSPORT. However, he sees the future of the 41-time England international at "one of the big clubs in England". After all, for Rice, "going to Bayern Munich is not the same attraction as it will be to play for an English Premier League club and win the Premier League with an English club," Jordan continued.

He would be "stunned" by a transfer to FC Bayern: England expert Jordan sees Rice in Premier League
Jordan takes Bayern's interest positively – but for a somewhat unexpected reason. According to the report, the record champions' courtship of the 24-year-old is "a great leverage for other clubs in England to pull themselves together to pay the price that West Ham may be demanding." The Londoners are calling for around 100 million euros as a transfer fee for Tuchel's desired solution Rice.
Jordan doesn't think Rice sees the reigning German champions as a serious transfer option. "I would be absolutely stunned if an established English player, who is considered one of the best players in his position, no longer played in the Premier League," the 55-year-old said on the talk show. He could not imagine that the coveted midfielder would want to play "in Germany, in a league dominated by one club in particular" instead of in his home country.

'Thomas Tuchel is not convincing': England expert Jordan rules out Rice move to Bayern
Jordan does not think that the Bayern coach could decide the poker game around Rice in favor of Munich. "Thomas Tuchel is not convincing. He couldn't persuade Todd Boehly (owner of Chelsea, ed.) to keep him, he couldn't persuade Romelu Lukaku (former Chelsea player, ed.) to play for him," the businessman shot at the current FCB coach. He had been coach of Chelsea FC in the Premier League from January 2021 to September 2022.
However, a move for the England international to the Bavarian capital still does not seem to be out of the question. Recently, Rice himself fueled the hopes of Bayern fans for a change. (wuc)
