Culture and Sports Minister Miki Zohar responded decisively today (Monday) to the heavy punishment imposed on Beitar Jerusalem following the events of the State Cup final.
"The punishment given to Beitar Jerusalem does not represent sporting values," Zohar said. "The team won the cup and therefore deserves to play in Europe. As I've always said, fan behaviour should have no bearing on the players and coach who won the game."
"Collective punishment is not the solution. This decision has to change, otherwise there is no value in winning on the field."

This decision must change, otherwise there is no value in winning on the field.
