Biathlon talent Sporaland has disappeared since mid-March
"In cases like this, when people just disappear, it's very hard to find the motive for it. This has been quite unclear since the beginning. We are not looking for a deceased person. However, we regularly assess whether we should do so. But for that we would need a specific area that we can search," said the responsible official Ragnhild Ouren recently to the Norwegian TV station TV2.
Until the end, the parents had not given up hope of finding their son alive. "We have no other choice. As long as we don't have clarity, we cling to the hope that still exists. He is used to life in nature and we think that he might have come a long way. We hope that people will pay attention and speak up when they see something. The police are dependent on clues. Our greatest wish is to find him," Eivind Sporaland's parents said in an interview with Norwegian newspaper Gudbrandsdolen Dagningen.

However, the local authorities have now discovered a body in the area where the missing biathlete was last suspected, which corresponds to the description of the person described. According to the police, all circumstantial evidence indicates that the body found is from Sporaland.

"We can't say for sure that it's Eivind Sporaland before we've done the autopsy. But we have every reason to believe that he is," Ouren told Norwegian daily Dagbladet.
