"The guys deserve it!" In the end, the kickers of VfB Hallbergmoos II were happy about staying in the district class. However, the relegation match was a reflection of the entire VfB season. © Heinzinger
VfB Hallbergmoos II holds the district class despite the lack of chances. The disappointment at FCN, which was the leader of the A-Class standings until the end, is huge.
Hallbergmoos/Neufahrn – There was great disappointment among the footballers of FC Neufahrn after the 0-1 defeat in the relegation match against VfB Hallbergmoos II. Therefore, nothing came of the longed-for direct promotion back to the district class. Coach Andreas Voggt fought back tears after the game: "The pain is just huge, I'm especially sorry for the team. The guys gave everything, but unfortunately it wasn't enough."
FC Neufahrn combative: "We'll attack again next year"
Voggt conceded that the Hallbergmoos team would have had the clearer chances. "In my opinion, however, the larger proportions of the game were ours. In any case, I'm super proud of the great fight that the squad showed." Wipe your mouth and move on, is now the motto.
(By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)
FCN sporting director Mario Moharitsch also praised the team for their "outstanding" fighting spirit. "But VfB's victory was well deserved." Nevertheless, the season was absolutely bitter: "In the decisive moments, the young squad lacked composure. But you can't blame her for that." Despite missing out on promotion, Moharitsch was also proud, announcing: "We'll attack again next year."
Second FCN coach Andreas Fritsch saw a significant improvement against Hallbergmoos II compared to the defeat in the A-Class 7 championship final against Langengeisling II: "The VfB victory is by no means undeserved, the game could have ended 3-7 against us." You have to take the positive things with you: "Where we are today is a huge difference compared to a year ago. We're a great team again and we'll continue as a unit."
VfB coach Kratzer: "We had chances for five games, but didn't score"
Meanwhile, Hallbergmoos co-player-coach Markus Kratzer was relieved: "Our victory is absolutely deserved, the round ended well for us." However, it was made unnecessarily exciting: "The game reflects our entire season in the district class. We've had chances for five games, but we're not scoring." Fortunately, Neufahrn missed the lucky punch at the end.
Mario Mutzbauer, who stepped in for ill coach Daniel Hartshauser at the end of the season, said: "Staying in the league is very important not only for the second team, but also for the entire club. The guys showed a lot of passion and deserved it." Captain Lukas Ebner was also delighted: "The team did a very, very cool job. We fought and deserved to win." The only thing that wasn't needed was the tight score: "Thank God we weren't punished for missing out on so many hundred percent. BERND HEINZINGER
