Formula 1 driver Mick Schumacher is a test driver at Mercedes this season. Now, for the first time, he is fully immersed in this role.
Barcelona – Since the beginning of this season, Mick Schumacher has been a test and reserve driver for Mercedes' Formula 1 team. So far, however, he has hardly been able to play in this role. This is now changing in the context of the Spanish Grand Prix. And in doing so, Schumi Junior is in a sense taking over the legacy of his father Michael Schumacher, who once sat in the cockpit of the "Silver Arrows" for several years.

Like his father Michael once did: Mick Schumacher will soon drive in a Mercedes car for the first time
As reported by Bild, Schumacher will contest "a complete day of testing" in Mercedes' Formula 1 car next Wednesday. He will race at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in Montmeló near Barcelona. A few days earlier, the Spanish Grand Prix, which will be free-to-air, will take place there in the racing series.
The 24-year-old will test "new tyres from manufacturer Pirelli". The background to the German driver's test drive is also that the Spanish Grand Prix will take place there a few days earlier.

Mick follows in the footsteps of his father Michael Schumacher by testing at Mercedes
It is a premiere for Schumi Junior: this is the first time he has been allowed to get behind the wheel of Mercedes. Specifically, he will drive the current W14 model of the racing team. Schumacher usually only works in the simulator and has not been allowed to drive a Formula 1 car since December.
And in doing so, he is following in the footsteps of his father Michael at the german-British racing team. At the end of his glorious Formula 1 career, he drove for Mercedes for three years from 2010 to 2012. Now his 24-year-old son is also allowed to do his laps in a physical "Silver Arrow" for the first time.
At Mercedes premiere drive: Michael Schumacher's son Mick will drive around 500 kilometers
How much the ex-Haas driver will drive in concrete terms depends on the trial in Barcelona. However, he will probably cover almost 500 kilometres on the Catalan race track, wrote Bild.

For Mick Schumacher, the premiere test drive is a good chance to show himself back on track after a long break from patience. He had lost his regular cockpit at Haas after two years at the end of last season. However, the German has not lost hope of a comeback: Schumacher hopes for a Formula 1 return with the help of his zodiac sign. (wuc)
