While scandals have not spared the sports community in recent months, including accusations of sexist and sexual violence within gymnastics, ice sports and football federations, or cases of corruption targeting rugby in particular, the elected ecologist wants to investigate the dysfunctions that affect these bodies.
The environmental group has in mind the future sporting events organized in France, namely the Rugby World Cup in the autumn and the Olympic Games in 2024. To do so, the committee, which will be formed within a month and composed of 30 deputies, intends to focus on several axes: corruption, sexual and gender-based violence and racist, homophobic or gender discrimination. Several personalities will be questioned such as victims of aggression or discrimination, politicians and, of course, members of federation leadership. A summons to a committee of inquiry may not be refused.
