The former Landesliga club experiences bitter hours, but is combative.
Taufkirchen – Relegation is bad enough, but then a double descent? "It's absolutely not easy to cope with," said Franz Schossnikl, chairman of BSG Taufkirchen, after the 0-2 defeat in the Kreisliga relegation match in Langenpreising against FC Moosburg.
The relegation of the second team from the A-Class had already been clear for weeks, and now the BSG First District Class is announced. When was the last time that happened? "In 1964, a few years after it was founded, before it went up," said the BSG club boss. The former B-Class before the league reform was that, comparable to the current district class.
Just as player-coach Thomas Bachmaier saw the defeat as a reflection of the season (we reported), Schlossnikl also had to admit that the whole thing had already been hinted at in the second half of the season. "I couldn't watch the second half. And then, of course, I congratulated Moosburg's coach Mario Sinicki on his well-deserved victory."
Schlossnikl doesn't want to look back much longer, because "now we have to look to keep the pile together". He is optimistic about this: "There are five or six young people coming. The team spirit is very good, and so we sat together in the clubhouse for a long time after the game." The BSG boss assumes "that we have to do it again with our own forces, because what do we want to use to recruit foreign players, except that we have a great coach".
Schlossnikl had carried a huge backpack with him to the promotion game. What was in there? "All the documents for such a game, as well as the shirts for the stewards, had to be provided by each side and also by the club," he explained. He praised SpVgg Langenpreising "for the great organisation" and admitted "that the backpack weighed a lot heavier on the way home".
Several times it was heard that the relegation had become apparent over the season, but wasn't the personnel bloodletting after the one-year district league intermezzo in 2019 simply too big a mortgage? "It started with the departures after the promotion and continued until last summer," Bachmaier continues. He had gone to Hohenpolding as a player-coach after the promotion to the district league "and I would have liked to split up at that time," he admits, "because one was the sporting aspect, the other the financial aspect". He clarifies: "I agreed before this season despite the personnel problems, because it is the BSG as my home club." And about the upcoming "turnaround", as he calls it: "Why shouldn't we be interesting for new players? We have one of the most beautiful and well-equipped sports facilities, such a rebuilding also has charms, and the camaraderie in the troops is great. At least I managed to do it," said the "Bache" exaggeratedly self-critically. He spoke of conversations with both his own players and potential new signings. Bachmaier: "Now we'll just watch when Moosen plays against Finsing."
On 29 June, training kicks off with a player session, and then it's off to neighbours such as FC Hörgersdorf and FC Hohenpolding. In any case, they are looking forward to a reunion at his former club. And they were also represented in Langenpreising.
