The transfer of Günther Gorenzel to Klagenfurt is a done deal and is to be announced next week. Before that, he introduces three new 1860 additions.
Is everything happening very quickly now? According to information from our editors, Günther Gorenzel will terminate his managing director contract at TSV 1860 next week and move to Austria Klagenfurt as sporting director. A compromise regarding the transfer fee seems to have been found – a test match has been agreed, in which the proceeds will go to the Lions. And the other basic requirement has also been met: Gorenzel quickly made the other two transfers of this summer clear after the signing of goalkeeper David Richter (we reported). The plan is to present the only three external accesses to the public today or tomorrow
All three new signings are fixed - Official confirmation on Wednesday?
Our editorial team knows: With transfer number two and three, the lions have reached into a higher shelf than with goalkeeper talent Richter, 24, who comes from the regional league (from Kickers Offenbach). Both candidates – the striker and the central midfielder – have third-division experience and were regulars at their clubs. Although the newcomers are not from Switzerland like the coach, Maurizio Jacobacci is said to be very happy with the reinforcements. "Every transfer has to be right," said the Italian, who comes from Bern. And: "I don't want to settle for average players.
Gorenzel will be allowed to leave when Pfeifer is back from vacation next week
Officially, the three transfers will be Gorenzel's last official act for 1860. He will be allowed to leave next week when Co-Managing Director Marc-Nicolai Pfeifer (Finance) is back from vacation. And after that? What is certain is that the lions want to present a successor, as soon as possible. It will be a normal sports director, without managing director competences. Uli Kellner
