The former captain of the women's France team Amandine Henry was summoned Tuesday in the preliminary list of coach Hervé Renard for the 2023 World Cup, in Australia and New Zealand (July 20-August 20). The 33-year-old midfielder, who has not been selected since December 2020, is one of 26 players on Renard's pre-list. The final list will include 23 players.
Henry, who left Olympique Lyonnais this summer for an experience in the United States, had been ruled out of Les Bleues by former coach Corinne Diacre. Forwards Eugenie Le Sommer and Kadidiatou Diani are also in the list of 26. But not PSG midfielder Kheira Hamraoui.
