Big scare on the track of the 24 Hours of Le Mans where took place, this Wednesday afternoon, the first session of free practice. The Aston Martin of D'Station Racing (number 777) in Stevensson's hands was the victim of a runway exit before coming to rest in the middle of the track.
Yellow flags were quickly unfurled to warn other competitors. While some were able to lift their foot and avoid the Aston Martin, Tower Motorsports' Oreca 07 arriving at high speed hit the vehicle.
Steven Thomas, at the wheel of the No. 7 was evacuated to the mobile clinic for tests but both drivers fortunately escaped without injury. Defending champion, the No. 8 Toyota set the fastest time of this session disrupted by a red flag following the collision.
