On the way to the U-turn: Beitar Jerusalem and the Football Association are trying to reach a solution that will allow the team to play in the Conference League this summer. This comes after UEFA ruled yesterday that the disciplinary tribunal does not have the authority to deny the yellow and black their participation in Europe.
Talks have been taking place between the sides since last night, with a plea deal on the agenda with the association's prosecutor, Nir Reshef, in which Beitar will appeal the sentence and absorb a different punishment.
The fear is that the court, which erred in its decision, will decide to revoke the trophy, so the yellow and black will agree to a plea bargain only after they are sure that the trophy and participation in Europe will not be taken from them.
All sides want to end the saga quickly and allow Beitar Jerusalem to play next season in Europe, but at this stage the team is discussing all aspects and implications and has not yet decided on a final step.
