Max Eberl traded as new sporting director at FC Bayern
FC Bayern is repositioning itself at the top following the dismissal of CEO Oliver Kahn and sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic. Jan-Christian Dreesen was selected as the new CEO of the Executive Board. Karl-Heinz Rummenigge celebrated his return and was elected to the Supervisory Board, and Uli Hoeneß is also increasingly in the spotlight again. A Brazzo successor, on the other hand, has not yet been found.
President Herbert Hainer announced a major solution, i.e. not a newcomer like Salihamidzic or Kahn once were. Rummenigge would like to see a German sporting director. Attributes that apply to Max Eberl. What's more, the 49-year-old from Lower Bavaria has the smell of a stable, was trained in his youth at FC Bayern and became a professional there. He maintains close contact with Hoeneß to this day. Shortly after the championship, there is even said to have been a meeting between Eberl and Bayern.

On the way to FC Bayern? Leipzig sporting director Eberl spotted at Munich airport
On Wednesday morning, Eberl was apparently back in Munich. Two photos of the RB managing director circulating on Twitter as he gets a coffee at the airport. Did Eberl have an appointment to negotiate with the new Bayern bosses? Pure speculation.
"Wednesday morning 05:45 at the airport in Munich. A fool who thinks evil of it," writes Twitter user "a_gussa". However, it is not known at what time the photos were actually taken. You have to know: Eberl's parents and his new partner Natascha Fruscella (49), who moderates the TV station Home Shopping Europa, among other things, live in Munich.
Max Eberl rooted in Bavaria: Parents and girlfriend live in Munich
"There's the fact that I grew up in Munich and Bayern Munich is my youth club, that my parents live in Munich and I have a great relationship with Munich," he explained, adding: "But there's also the fact that I have a contract in Leipzig. That I'm planning my transfer period, that I'm planning extensions. These are the facts I cling to. I don't know today why I shouldn't fulfil my contract in Leipzig."

Max Eberl and Uli Hoeneß: Contact never broken off
However, Eberl still maintains a close relationship with Uli Hoeness. "It's well known that I'm in contact with Uli Hoeneß from time to time. But we never talked about it," the 49-year-old explained. Hoeneß had already announced that he would wait until Christmas for the new sporting director if necessary. Even if it doesn't seem like it at the moment, Leipzig is apparently ready to talk. (ck)
