She does not intend to stop there. Loretta Denaro, the widow of Christophe Dominici, who disappeared suddenly in November 2020, sued lawyer Thierry Braillard earlier this year, as reported by L'Equipe. She accuses him of having badly advised his former companion, who had invested at the time in the project to buy AS Béziers Hérault.
"I attack the lawyer in charge of the case because when we go to see a lawyer, it is normally to be protected, advised, and this professional must verify the acts, ensure the origin of the funds etc., she explains. There would have been no soap opera from Biterrois and Christophe would still be with us. »
In the spring of 2020, the former International (67 caps) worked the recruitment of players and coaches for the future Biterroise team, which was in principle to be financially supported by funds from the Emirates. It turned out in July that the case presented by Samir Ben Romdhane did not hold water. At the end of November, Christophe Dominici was found lifeless at the foot of a disused building in the park of Saint-Cloud.
"It was his baby, he cared about it," Loretta Denaro told us last November. From January to July 2020, he worked like crazy (...) It had become the Dominici project, when he was only supposed to be the sporting director. He wasn't sleeping. And when he discovered that everything was fake... He felt bad, betrayed, he didn't speak anymore. People took advantage of him in a moment of weakness. I do not understand how they could present such a miserable case to the DNACG. Part of his entourage was malicious. »
For his part, the former Secretary of State does not consider himself concerned. "I do not see in what capacity Mrs. Denaro can exercise my professional civil liability in the name of the late Christophe Dominici when I was never his lawyer," he told L'Equipe. (...) It hurts my image and reputation. It was the DNACG that refused the recovery plan, and I have no responsibility for this decision. »
L'Equipe evokes a possible hearing next fall. "We have been waiting six months for the conclusions of Mr. Braillard, it's a long time to finally tell us that he is not concerned by the story," concludes Gilles-Jean Portejoie, Loretta Denaro's lawyer.
