Highlights: Traveller's Club of France (TFC) has been in financial trouble since the financial crisis of 2008-2009. The club has been forced to sell off some of its assets to pay for its debts. Now the club is looking for a new owner to take control of the club. TFC is currently in National 3, which means it is in the second tier of the French football league system. It is the first time in the club's history that it has been placed in the third division.

The former resident of Ligue 2, now in National 3, could pass under foreign flag in the coming days.

Tours FC bought by foreign funds? The hypothesis was launched by the controversial president of the Touraine club, Jean-Marc Ettori, this Wednesday in the columns of the New Republic. Unable to climb to National 2 this season and overtaken by the club of Avoine, TFC vegetates in N3 (5th division), far from its golden years.

Eager to pass the hand at 72 years old, the Corsican leader spoke about the situation of the Touraine club, in bad financial shape and not certain to pass with ease the passage before the DNCG, the financial gendarme of French football.

« Me, as soon as everything is in place, goodbye and thank you. I am 72 years old, I aspire to more tranquility »

This foreign investment fund will take control of the club at more than 50%, with the idea of slowly bringing TFC to its natural and logical place, says the president of Touraine who owns the club since 2013 where Olivier Giroud, Laurent Koscielny, Andy Delort, but also Jonathan Gradit, Baptiste Santamaria and Haris Belkebla in recent years. We still need time to wrap things up, another good month. Me, as soon as everything is in place, goodbye and thank you. I am 72 years old, I aspire to more tranquility. »

In recent months, the club's former player in the 1980s and star consultant on beIN Sports, Omar Da Fonseca, had tried to take charge of Tours FC. Before seeing his project be rebuffed. The investment of Saïd Chabane had been mentioned for a time, without a future. The arrival of foreign funds would be a first in the history of the Touraine club, which continues to chase its past and now vegetates in the depths of French football. Much to the dismay of his most loyal supporters.
