The first night of the finals at the Israeli Athletics Championships was promising and fulfilled, when two new Israeli records were broken, by Daria Golubetti and Bar Soloveitchik, in the 400-meter freestyle.
Golubetti led throughout the 300-meter freestyle, touching the wall in 4:11.40, bettering over two seconds of the Israeli record, with the previous record belonging to Andy Moraz with 4:13.79.

A few minutes later, we received another Israeli record, this time courtesy of Bar Soloveitchik in the men's parallel swim in the 400-meter freestyle, which offset another 11 hundredths of the national record he set in the morning qualifying - 3:48.55 minutes.
Golubetti returned to the water later to participate in the 50-meter freestyle final, where she won her second gold of the night, with 25.88 seconds. In the men's, national champion Olympic swimmer Meron Heruti, who finished in 22.15 seconds.

Aviv Barzily, who had already taken her place at the World Championships, was crowned Israeli champion in the women's 200-meter backstroke with 2:11.30 minutes, in the men's event, David Grachik won with 1:57.95 minutes, ahead of Inbar Danziger (2:00.00) and Yaakov Tumarkin (2:00.01).

The first finals to put out the show of the evening were in the 200-meter breaststroke, where in the women's, Keren Eisenbuch finished first with 2:40.58 minutes and in the men's parallel swim, he was crowned Israeli champion Jonathan Rom after 2:13.70 minutes.
