Left winger Guttau the new Boyamba - and Lakenmacher replaces the Nine Bear

2023-06-07T07:52:43.503Z

Highlights: TSV 1860 have signed Julian Guttau from Freiburg II. The 23-year-old left winger was used in 35 of 38 games this season. David Richter and Marlon Frey are also expected to join the Lions in 2023/24. The plan is to make the transfer trio public this Wednesday. The shareholders still agree on an increase in the sports budget. The imminent move of sporting director Günther Gorenzel to Klagenfurt could possibly help to lift the mood of the HAM representatives.

The transfer cat is out of the bag. After goalkeeper David Richter and eighth Marlon Frey, Freiburg's Julian Guttau is also expected to strengthen the Lions squad in 2023/24.

Compared to the summer of 2022 (nine newcomers), it is a modest transfer offensive that TSV 1860 is coming up with ahead of the 2023/24 season. There are just three external additions, and the drastically reduced sports budget (4.5 instead of 6.3 million euros) does not provide more. After all, this year, too, the lions report early completion. The plan is to make the transfer trio public this Wednesday. All three names are exclusively available to our editorial team: After goalkeeper David Richter (24, Offenbach) and Duisburg midfielder Marlon Frey (db24 reported first), Freiburg left winger Julian Guttau (23) will also strengthen the thinned-out Lions squad.

Guttau was used in 35 of 38 games this season

The 23-year-old Guttau was a perennial favourite with last year's surprise team from Breisgau (second place behind champion Elversberg). The Halle native was on the pitch in 35 of 38 games, scoring two goals himself and setting up five more. Guttau also played in both games against 1860, especially in Freiburg's 2-0 win in the first leg. The frequent player can play any position on the left side. In the future, he will feed Fynn Lakenmacher, who is planned as Bear's successor, with usable feeds - as a replacement for fan favorite Joseph Boyamba, whose contract has not been renewed (destination unknown).

From Duisburg comes eighth Marlon Frey

A goalkeeper, an eight and a left winger. This concludes the Lions' transfer activities for this summer. It is, because the shareholders still agree on an increase in the sports budget. The imminent move of sporting director Günther Gorenzel to Klagenfurt could possibly help to lift the mood of the HAM representatives significantly. After all, it was not until the spring that Gorenzell was personally blamed for the non-rise of the lions. Hasan Ismaik had been harsh on his social media channels: "If you set a goal for someone year after year and give them the means to achieve it, and they don't make it, they will never make it. That's clear." With the current transfer package, Gorenzel can now show whether at least his estate has the quality to survive in the eyes of the investor.
