"The medical team has completely stopped the sedation of Sergio Rico and, for the moment, his condition is evolving favorably," informs the hospital. The day before, doctors had "gradually removed the sedation to see how he reacts".

Rico, 29, suffered a traumatic brain injury after a horse riding accident on May 28 in Andalusia. His condition "remains serious and he continues to be placed in intensive care," said the Seville hospital. New exams are expected to take place later this week. Rico, replacing Gianluigi Donnarumma at PSG, had received many signs of support from the club and supporters during the last match of the season, Saturday, June 3.
