Casper Ruud (number 4)-Holger Rune (number 6), the Norwegian metronome against the Danish bad boy. There will be electricity in the air this Wednesday during the last night session of Roland-Garros. At the 2022 France International, the explanation in the quarterfinals (already) between the discreet Casper Ruud and the tempestuous Holger Rune had seen the players close to the yellow line. As he shook hands, the irascible Dane had fled the gaze of his elder who was staring at him with morgue. Rune, smooth face but boiling temperament suffocated, had regretted the "lack of respect" of his rival. Ruud hit back by scratching, "Maybe it's time to grow up." Enough to feed a rivalry that can accompany the one between Daniil Medvedev and Stefanos Tsitsipas.

Ruud, a status to defend
The Norwegian won 4 of the 5 matches against the Dane, but Rune won the last explanation, in the semifinals in Rome, last May. The tipping point? "I think he's probably going to get his best Grand Slam result at Roland Garros this year," Ruud conceded. At Roland-Garros, the Norwegian (85 matches on clay won on the circuit since 2020, which is the record) sees Rune (30 wins-10 losses in 2023, who is in the top 5 players who have won the most matches this season).
The reunion promises. "I hope we can do less drama this year," Rune said, after explaining: "Last year it was a big match, with a second and third set hooked. He had played well. I respect him, there is no problem with that. He's a good player. I'm looking forward to it," says Holger Rune.
I've been asked to take a picture more, but I'm not a superstar like a rock star or a movie star.
Casper Ruud is also looking forward to the explanation: "In the second week, that's when you have to change gears. The challenge is daunting. That's where now we're really starting to laugh, we'll see what happens."
At Roland-Garros against his impetuous opponent, Casper Ruud defends a status, he who, after the final of Roland-Garros 2022 had changed dimension without taking himself for another: "I was asked more to take a photo, but I am not a superstar like a rock star or a movie star." Ruud-Rune, the trailer is promising between two temperaments and two very opposite games...
