Cristiano Ronaldo ended a disappointing debut season in Saudi Arabia, failing to lead his Al-Nassr to the championship. The Portuguese star has received quite a few criticisms, the most recent of which came from former Al-Hilal coach Emiliano Diaz.
"He had a tough time. When we played against him, it was easy for us," said Diaz, who worked with his father Ramon in third place in the table. "He didn't even touch the ball in front of us. Against the big teams, he couldn't make a difference. He scored 3-4 goals against small teams, and I saw what everyone was talking about here. He lost the King's Cup, lost the Supercup and didn't win the championship."

Asked about the comparisons between CR7 and Lionel Messi, the Italian-Argentine Dias replied: "You can't compare, not as footballers. There is no comparison here at all. We are talking about a difference of light years. Only the numbers play in Ronaldo's favour, he is an animal, but in terms of qualities, there is no room for comparison."
