One person who likes to go on holiday at home anyway is Manuel Neuer. Why go away when the sun is shining so often in Bavaria as it has been in the last few days? The goalkeeper is on the home stretch of rehab after breaking his lower leg. In the new season, the 37-year-old wants to attack again.

A few days off in his Bavarian homeland will certainly do him good to fully charge his batteries for it. On Instagram, Neuer posted a photo of Lake Tegernsee, where he is currently relaxing. The Bayern captain can be seen walking along a sunny lakeside promenade.

And lo and behold, the Neuer family has grown! Neuer carries a white puppy in his arms, which of course immediately delights his fans. Judging by the sight, it could be a Labrador retriever puppy. In any case, he is not old yet.

Neuer does not yet reveal the name of the little four-legged friend in his post. He can certainly get valuable tips from the passionate dog owner and animal lover Thomas Müller, who stood in for him as Bayern captain during his injury abstinence.

The national goalkeeper does not yet have children with his girlfriend Anika Bissel, with the dog the two are taking a first step towards family life. However, Neuer's focus is likely to be on attacking again in the autumn of his career and securing his regular place between the posts again.
