With a 1-1 draw in the relegation first leg at VfB Forstinning, ASV Dachau has put itself in a good position for the second leg. On Saturday, it will be decided who has to be relegated.

Dachau – Fortunately, Maximilian Bergner has solid nerves: Thanks to his penalty kick converted in the final phase, the footballers of ASV Dachau have created a very decent starting position for what is probably the most important game of the year on Wednesday evening. The Dachau team drew 1-1 in Forstinning, and on Saturday at 16 p.m. in the ASV Stadium the second and decisive relegation game will decide which of the two league rivals will remain in the state league and who will have to be relegated to the district league.

87 minutes were over on Wednesday evening when Bergner himself was brought down after a cross in the penalty area. The fouled man grabs the ball, runs and hits high into the left corner. Forstinning's keeper Michael Heidfeld jumps into the other corner.

Shortly thereafter, the game was over. "An absolutely deserved 1-1," said ASV coach Manuel Haupt after the final whistle.

In the first half, however, he didn't particularly like his team's performance. The team went to work "hastily and not very creatively", "we played the balls forward unwisely and often too quickly". Host Forstinning, for his part, did little for the game, waiting for mistakes from the Dachau team.

In a scene with success: ASV defender Zvonimir Kulic wanted to head a high ball to his goalkeeper Artem Bykanov in the 20th minute and clear it in this way. But the matter fell short. Mohamed Al Hosaini squirted in between and swept over the rushing Bykanov.

In the second half, ASV Dachau did everything they could to make up for the deficit. And that looked very good at times. The Dachauers were clearly in control of the game, they won the important second balls and sometimes constricted the Forstinningers. What was missing, however, were the very clear opportunities. That's why the Dachau team tried again and again from a distance, but these balls became prey to the very good Forstinninger goalkeeper Heidfeld.

But the Kohn for all the troubles came with the equalizer - three minutes before the end of regular time. Haupt: "Now it's back to square one on Saturday."

On Wednesday, the ASV coach had to make two changes due to injury. Leon Schleich made way for Yazid Ouro-Akpo Adjai after just over 20 minutes due to muscular problems. In addition, defender Kulic caught a laceration to his eye during an aerial duel. He initially continued to play with a turban, but then stayed in the dressing room for the break. Whether Schleich and Kulic will be able to play on Saturday is uncertain.
