This final is the first meeting between Manchester City and Inter Milan in the Champions League. The Mancunians are favourites tonight against the Milanese. The stakes are immense for the Skyblues who have the opportunity to win their first Champions League and turn the page definitively on their painful defeat in the final two years ago against Chelsea in Porto. The Cityzens, freshly crowned champions of England and winners of the FA Cup against rivals Manchester United on Saturday, June 3, are only one victory away from achieving an exceptional treble this season.
It is difficult to imagine the Cityzens missing out on their first Champions League for a second time as they have been so impressive for several months. Pep Guardiola's players arrive in the final having lost a single game and display the best attack and defence in the competition. Their confidence is at an all-time high after eliminating Bayern Munich in the quarter-finals and Real Madrid in the semi-finals.
Inter are less impressive this year than their opponent of the evening but were still solid to reach the final. The Nerazzurri largely dominated AC Milan, their arch-enemy, in the semi-finals without conceding a single goal. They have lost only twice, in the group stage, against Bayern Munich. Interistes have won four of their six matches in the knockout stage and have finished five matches without conceding a goal. Inter Milan are also regulars in the Champions League. The Lombard club has won the competition three times, most recently in 2010. Manchester City is the overwhelming favorite for this final but Inter also has a card to play.
The match Manchester City - Inter Milan takes place this Saturday, June 10 from 21 pm, live on the channels TF1, Canal +, and beIN Sports. A live commentary will also be offered on our website on June 10 to follow the final.
