Hapoel Tel Aviv fans march before the playoff final (Or Shkedi)
Maccabi Tel Aviv's victory Thursday night in Game 1 of the playoff final over Hapoel Tel Aviv put them one victory away from winning the championship. The Yellows can do so if they win this Sunday (21:15) at the Shlomo Arena in Hapoel Tel Aviv's home game, and if they lose, the series will return to Elijah for a decisive game on Tuesday.
However, Maccabi Tel Aviv's winning the championship at the Shlomo Arena is a very complicated scenario for the security forces, when it comes to holding a championship ceremony on the court - in front of an enthusiastic Hapoel audience.

The league administration is aware of this possible scenario, and after a round of consultations, including with members of the Basketball Association, the possibility of not holding such a ceremony is being considered for fear of violent incidents and degradation of the ceremony. The police are aware of this particular scenario and, according to sources there, support reducing the risk of riots. In any case, a final decision will fall only after the discussion with the police.
It is currently unclear where the championship ceremony will take place in such a case.
