A Marseillais replaces a Madrilenian. On Thursday, the French Football Federation (FFF) announced that Jordan Veretout replaces Ferland Mendy in the group of 23 Blues selected by Didier Deschamps for the qualifying matches for the next Euro in 2024.
Mendy, not selected for the last World Cup, is currently being treated in Qatar for shin pain. Warned this Thursday, the coach of the France team has therefore called Jordan Veretout who should join the Blues in Clairefontaine Saturday noon. The Marseillais had participated in the global campaign in December 2022 in Qatar and thus finds his teammates.
The France team will face Gibraltar on Friday in Faro (20:45, French time, live on TF1) before receiving, three days later, Greece at the Stade de France (20:45 live on TF1). So far, the vice-champions of the world tricolor occupy the first place of the Pool B with two successes against the Netherlands (4-0), then Ireland (1-0) in as many games played.
