Hapoel Jerusalem announced Thursday morning the extension of Zach Hankins' contract for another two years. Whoever was voted Premier League Player of the Year and Champions League Team of the Year will remain in Jerusalem until the end of the 24/25 season.
As reported by Israel Hayom, the American center signed his contract in the middle of the season, but now that the change of ownership at Hapoel Jerusalem has become official.
"Hapoel Jerusalem and coach Dzikic gave me a chance to show what I am capable of, even though there were those who said that my body cannot compete at this level," Zach said after signing, "We did some very special things this season but also we couldn't achieve what we knew we were capable of. The verb is a special place.
"My wife and I love the community here in Jerusalem, and we felt welcome from the very beginning. The fans, the team, the culture that was formed around it — it all felt right for my basketball journey. So with an open account and an opportunity to build on the success of last season, I am excited to continue at Hapoel for the next two years. Come on the worker!"
