After Porsche, Ferrari, Cadillac, Vanwall, the World Endurance Championship continues to attract new manufacturers (Lamborghini and BMW are preparing their return). Alpine, which competes this year in the LMP2 category (the "second division" of the championship), took advantage of the centenary of the 24 Hours of Le Mans this weekend to unveil its Hypercar and confirm its return to the premier category next year.
The livery (LMDh design), blue, white and red, will bear the name A424_β. 4 respects the tradition of Alpine victors in Endurance, 24 echoes the 24 Hours of Le Mans and 2024, and β designates its final stage before its launch.
«
We do not underestimate the task ahead in this exciting challenge. We remain humble, but determined to prevail on both sides of the Atlantic. We hope to offer all motorsport lovers beautiful, epic and exciting battles and we have only one thing to say to them. See you on track!", commented Laurent Rossi, the boss of the brand and head of the sports department of the manufacturer.
The car's first start is scheduled for June 24 and the very first test session around mid-August.
