Carlos Alcaraz won the Madrid tournament (Sport1)
The final stretch of the Roland Garros tournament culminates on Friday with the men's semifinals as top-ranked Carlos Alcaraz meets the record holder for Grand Slam tiebreaks and who could officially overtake Rafael Nadal to become the greatest ever winner, Novak Djokovic. Casper Ruud will then try to replicate last season's finish against Alexander Zverev.

Carlos Alcaraz (1, Spain) vs Novak Djokovic (3, Serbia)
Although the final will only take place on Sunday, today we probably get the real final, in the form of a meeting between the first ranked player and the natural successor to Rafael Nadal, who is looking for a second career Grand Slam and first on clay, against the Serbian who wants to become the record holder of Grand Slam tournament wins, at the expense of the bull from Mallorca.
The two met only once in their careers, even then it was in the semi-finals, but in Madrid, Alcaraz won and later won the title at his home tournament. Each has dropped only one set in the entire tournament so far.

Casper Ruud (4, Norway) vs Alexander Zverev (22, Germany)
The previous French championship finalist will try to replicate that feat this year and later surpass it with a first-ever Grand Slam title. Zverev, for his part, has yet to qualify for the final of the tournament, having made it all the way to the semifinals in the last two years, while in 2022 he was injured against Rafael Nadal who went on to win 14 of the tournament.
The two have met 4 times in their careers, each time it was in the quarterfinals of any tournament and the German beat the Norwegian 3 times and lost only once. For the fifth time, they could be the underdog side in the Roland Garros final and maybe even surprise the winner of Alcaraz and Djokovic in the final.
