MS Ashdod coach Eli Levy met with Avi Riken on Wednesday and offered him to join the club for next season. Ricken returned this week from a long family vacation after the season finale and is now reviewing his offers for next season.
Levy, who also offered Itai Shechter to join M.S. Ashdod believes that two experienced and positive players who can still contribute a lot on the pitch can help MS. Ashdod next season. Ricken has other options from the two Petah hopes that have returned to the Premier League and from Hapoel Jerusalem, which really wants him. Beitar Jerusalem, whose return to it could have been natural and closed the circle, is currently examining the addition of other players and the veteran midfielder is not in its plans at this stage.

Yesterday, it was announced that before Maccabi Tel Aviv decided to part ways with Riken after eight years, a Zoom call was held in which incoming CEO Ben Mansford and owner Jack Angelidis' representative participated. During the conversation, the possibility of Riken retiring and being assigned to a senior position in Maccabi Tel Aviv's academy was examined, but the 34-year-old midfielder made it clear that he wants to continue playing for at least another two years and beyond. Riken has a coaching certificate and intends in the future to continue in the field and bring his extensive knowledge, but at the moment he is preparing for next season and will soon choose where he will play.
