TSV Grafing has more than 2000 members in its twelve departments. However, only about three dozen attended the annual general meeting. The association has another problem.
Grafing – TSV managing director Alexandra Daser did not want to see a lack of interest in the club in the low number of visitors to the annual general meeting at the Hofreiterhof in Oberelkofen, for her it was rather an expression that "everything is fine and there is no reason to complain".
An impression that was confirmed by the individual divisions as well as by the good cash situation. "We have generated a significant increase," said Daser happily. The Corona kink that had to be registered at some clubs also failed to materialize at the Grafinger Turn- und Sportverein. "Our members are very, very loyal," the managing director explained. The TSV has only normal fluctuation to report, "in total even more members than before the pandemic".
What still concerns TSV Grafing is the hall problem, "which is huge". In handball, basketball and volleyball, for example, there is a lot of interest, "but it is not possible to open more teams, we have no hall capacity for them". The waiting lists are packed. In the gymnastics department and at Movimento, the acrobatics division, "250 to 300 children had to be put off", in parent-child gymnastics more than 100.
From Daser's point of view, this is a very bitter circumstance: "The children would be so keen on it. But there is no room for the corresponding groups. It would not fail because of trainers and supervisors." In times when inadequate exercise is admonished and the health aspect of sport is emphasized again and again, this is a fatal circumstance. "And what better way to integrate children than through sport," said Alexandra Daser, referring to the increasing number of migrant and refugee children.
With an anxious look, the people of Grafingen are following the development of the construction of the vocational school in Grafing-Bahnhof, not least because of the increased interest in their offers. It is not only the TSV athletes who are hoping for relief from the resulting gym. "After all, this hall would benefit all the surrounding clubs," said Daser from the TSV board. However, the dream of a four- or five-fold gym has already been abandoned. "It probably won't come," complains the managing director. But one would also be grateful for a smaller version.
The TSV board, which was confirmed in office in the existing version (1st chairwoman Anna Hopfes, 2nd chairman Toni Wörndl, 3rd chairwoman Carmen Remplewski, managing director Alexandra Daser), will continue to work for a new hall, said Daser.
Nevertheless, there is a construction site at TSV Grafing - in the truest sense of the word: In the stadium, the red earth has to give way to a modern tartan track, which is why the football and beach volleyball courts are closed. The work is expected to drag on until the beginning of September. The remaining matches of the season must be played on the training ground.
