England report: Chaos again ahead of Champions League final in Istanbul. According to reports in the kingdom, many Manchester City and Inter fans are forced to walk almost 8km to Ataturk Stadium due to traffic, and deal not only with huge queues outside the stadium, but also with smoke coming from a fire that broke out in a warehouse nearby.

By the afternoon, the atmosphere was good, and the bars and restaurants in central Istanbul began to empty out as City fans began making their way to the Olympic Stadium. UEFA has done everything possible to avoid a repeat of last year's fiasco, encouraging fans to take buses to the stadium that began departing at 13pm local time - nine hours before kick-off - with the last due to leave at 00pm.

Many fans reported that the journey takes almost two hours (!) with many buses stuck in terrible traffic jams. Those who chose to take the metro - even with three transfers - arrived faster, taking them "only" 90 minutes, and more with air conditioning.

Due to the tedious traffic jams, hundreds of City fans abandoned their cars and instead chose to walk along the side of the highway leading to the stadium. Turkish media showed images of fans marching along a highway, near traffic, desperately trying to reach the stadium.

Then, those who arrived early, complained about the lack of drink and food, and exorbitant prices at the individual stalls. Smoke could be seen billowing in the air around Ataturk Stadium amid reports of a fire in a nearby warehouse. In addition, fans faced difficulty entering the stadium after arriving, when large crowds gathered outside the stadium, in long lines. 20,20 fans were allocated to City, 72,000 to Inter, and the rest of the <>,<>-seat stadium is made up of locals, lottery winners and associates.
