The suspense takes lead again in the wing. Already winner on Thursday, Jonas Vingegaard (Jumbo-Visma) renewed his performance by winning alone, this Saturday, during the 7th and penultimate stage of the Critérium du Dauphiné between Porte-de-Savoie and the Col de la Croix de Fer - Saint-Sorlin. The Dane, wearing the yellow jersey, further increases his lead in the general classification with now 2′11" margin over his first pursuer Adam Yates, second of the day's stage (+43").

Starting at 5km from the finish, Jonas Vingegaard placed a lightning acceleration, leaving all the other favorites on the spot. Only Adam Yates managed to extricate himself from the group, but the Briton was never able to see the Dane again. On Sunday, the final explanation will take place between Le-Pont-de-Claix and La Bastille.
Guillaume Martin (Cofidis) finished best Frenchman of the day (7th at 1′10′'). Lenny Martinez is 12th at 1′16′' and Julian Alaphilippe 19th at 2′15th. As for David Gaudu (Groupama-FDJ) he lost a lot of time by finishing at 3′01′'.
