The final of the World Judo Championships over 100 kg, between Teddy Riner and Inal Tasuyev, in Doha, Qatar, was one of the most fascinating in recent years, with the Frenchman taking the podium first, to achieve the 11th gold of his career in this competition.
The World Judo Federation (IJF) announced on Saturday that due to a refereeing error, the Russian will also receive the gold medal and ranking points that deserve this position.

"During the final between Teddy Riner and Inal Tasuyev, there was one situation where neither the referee on the mat nor the IJF judging committee scored," the World Judo Federation clarified, "After a thorough analysis of experts, according to the current refereeing rules, Inal Tasuyev's counterattack could be scored. Therefore, the International Judo Federation declares both athletes the winners of the competition."
