Manchester City fans stand in long queues in Istanbul before the Champions League final amid the fire (from social media)
The Champions League final between Manchester City and Inter Milan took place tonight (Saturday) in Istanbul, in the big battle for the prestigious title, and as expected, there were quite a few spicy stories surrounding the games.

Noel Gallagher took a break from his US tour with his band High Flying Birds, and took time to watch his beloved Manchester City match against Inter Milan in the Champions League final. Gallagher is a well-known City fan, but could not attend the game in Istanbul because of his North American tour. However, he managed to do the obvious thing for a fan, and went to watch a game at a local bar in San Diego, alongside an amazed crowd at the local bar.

* Sheikh Mansour, owner of Manchester City, arrived in Istanbul and sat in the gallery of honor alongside Turkish President Erguan, UEFA President Ceferin and club chairman Mubarak Al Khaldun. For Mansur, it's the first time he's seen a game of his team since 2010, after buying it in 2008.

* Famed chef Nusret Gökçe, popularly known as "Salt Bey", reached the final, and was once again seen on the pitch, and social media wondered: How could he once again be allowed to get so close to the events, given his disgraceful behavior after the World Cup final in Qatar?

* Inter entered the game with its new sponsor, Paramount+, appearing at the front of the shirt, for the first time. Inter agreed with the streaming company after its agreement with the crypto company was terminated because it failed to comply with the financial agreement and Inter removed its logos from all its outfits.
* A fire near the stadium caused traffic jams and pressure before the start of the game, and smoke reached the stadium itself, but firefighters brought the fire under control in a warehouse in the area quickly enough not to delay the start of the game.
