Progress between Maccabi Haifa and goalkeeper Nathan Baxter, who is slated to replace Josh Cohen at the club. The Greens marked Baxter as the leading option in case Cohen does not continue, and in light of the delay in negotiations with the American, talks with the Englishman accelerated over the weekend that he too could play in Israel as a Jew.
In Haifa, there is cautious optimism that the contacts will indeed mature in the near future and the goalkeeper will be able to land in Israel to complete medical tests after the injury he suffered and begin training. The Greens are in talks with Cohen at the same time, but at this stage it seems that progress with Baxter improves his chances of becoming Haifa's first goalkeeper this season.
