Kosovo basketball referee Daut Mehmeti was banned from FIBA for life on Saturday for violating the World Basketball Association's code of conduct and integrity.

The reason that apparently brought the punishment to the 37-year-old referee was gambling and coordinating games he refereeed. The report also states that 6 of the last 9 matches refereed by the Kosuvari are Maccabi Haifa's, and he judged Hapoel Galil Elyon and Ironi Nahariya several times in the Balkan League last season.
