The most loyal supporters of Les Bleues will be able to breathe relief. While the allocation of rights to the Women's World Cup was still not settled in France a little more than a month before its debut in Oceania (July 20 - August 20), it seems that a broadcaster has finally been found. Indeed, according to information from the newspaper l'Equipe, the World Cup will spend this summer on France Televisions and M6.
The two channels will share the matches and rights amounting to less than 10 million euros. No agreement has yet been reached with FIFA, but it is on track. They also want to share all the meetings of the Blues, candidates for the supreme title this summer, outside the major tournaments. The matches of the France team, whose rights are sold by the FFF, are currently broadcast on W9, channel of the M6 group. Hervé Renard's players could therefore make their long-term arrival on the public service.
"I think we'll be able to watch the World Cup in France"
Questioned after his re-election, the President of the French Football Federation, Philippe Diallo reaffirmed his desire to see the Women's World Cup broadcast in France: "I think we will be able to watch the World Cup in France. The general interest is that this competition can be accessible to all French people. A number of exchanges have taken place in recent hours and days so that normally, within a short period of time, agreements can be reached. I do not confirm the agreement France TV-M6, but it seems to me that reason will prevail and that balances will be found. Announcements will be made in the coming hours or days. »
