Istanbul – The UEFA Champions League final will take place in Istanbul, Turkey. The English champions Manchester City will face the Italian top club Inter Milan. On paper, the Premier League club are favourites, but Inter showed that they can cause a surprise at any time in the Champions League.

The majority of neutral spectators are likely to be in favor of the underdog Inter Milan. Manchester City is not very popular on the transfer market because of its high spending, as Uwe Rösler, former striker of the "Sky Blues", also knows. Despite the clearly divided roles in the final of the Champions League, Inter Milan reckons they have a chance. "Manchester City are obviously a strong team. Pep Guardiola's team has many superstars in their ranks alongside Kevin De Bruyne, Ilkay Gundogan and Erling Haaland. But especially in football, there are hundreds of examples in which the supposedly smaller beats the bigger one. You have to beat us first," said German international Robin Gosens to the Rheinische Post.

"We've proven that we play good football. We'll definitely throw everything into it to win this final," Gosens promised the Inter fans and dreams of a big triumph: "But it fits in with my extraordinary career. Without ever having seen a youth academy, I found my way into paid football quite late. I've never stopped dreaming."

On the way to the final, Inter Milan survived the group stage behind FC Bayern in second place. In the knockout phase, the Italians then knocked FC Porto, SSC Napoli and AC Milan out of the competition. Manchester City did not show any weakness and won their group confidently.
