Brief moments of fear gripped the participants and spectators of Italy's MotoGP race during the standings, when one of the competitors lost control of his motorcycle and slid off the track, straight into the safety wall.
While riding with a care team was dispatched to the scene, the rider, Spain's Augusto Fernández, was seen miraculously rising to his feet and running towards the technicians' stand to continue the race with a replacement motorcycle.

Just in case, the organizers of the competition stopped the race, partly to allow one of the teams to clear the track of Fernández's motorcycle parts, which after a brief examination turned out to be not seriously injured and could return to competition.

The motorcycle itself, a KTM, was declared Total Luce, after completely breaking apart during the accident, causing bystanders to rapid heart palpitations, until Fernandes stood up.
