The Mongolian Judo Grand Slam continues to shine a light on Israel's women's delegation, with Raz Hershko and Inbar Lanir advancing to the finals on Sunday.
Hershko, who competes in the weight category over 78 kg and is ranked first in the world, reached the first competition to give a full score ahead of the Olympic Games.
Following her current ranking, the Israeli automatically advanced to the second round, where she beat her Croatian opponent without much difficulty, who suffered a third penalty 2:21 from the opening. In the quarterfinals, she continued the momentum with a Korean knockout.

In the semifinals, the Israeli attacked from the opening against a Mongolian opponent, with 2:21 to go, managed to captivate her and get into the battle for gold.

Lanier debuted in the under-78kg weight category with a red patch on her back, symbolizing that she is the current world champion, after her big win a month and a half ago in Qatar. In the second round, she had no trouble against an opponent from France, whom she sent home after only 21 seconds.
In the quarterfinals, Lanier defeated a Slovenian opponent, this time taking 1:34 minutes en route to the semifinals against Portugal's Patricia Sampaio. The latter had already taken the lead in Vasari, but the Israeli returned one of her own en route to the final.

In doing so, the delegation secured two more medals in the competition in which the men's team does not participate, after the gold of Gefen Primo (up to 52 kg) and the bronze medals of Tamar Malka (up to 48 kg), Gili Sharir (up to 63 kg) and Maya Goshen (up to 70 kg).
