Recap of Maccabi Haifa's 1:2 away win over Slovan Bratislava in the UEFA Champions League qualifier (Sport1)
Rubin Kazan of the Russian League has submitted an official offer to Maccabi Haifa in order to acquire Mahmoud Jaber. The player's Serbian agent approached Haifa with a document from the Russian team, according to which the team offers about 1.2 million euros for the player plus a percentage of future profit. However, the assessment among sources in Haifa is that the management will refuse the current offer and the Russians will have to make a much upgraded offer in order to acquire the player.
Jabeur only recently signed a contract extension until 2026 and Haifa are counting heavily on him, so if the Russians' offer grows, it could significantly disrupt the professional plans and lead to Haifa adding another midfield player in the middle. "At the moment, it appears that Jaber will not be released," said a source familiar with the details.

The midfielder is expected to start in the line-up today (Tuesday, 20:00, Sport2) against Slovan Bratislava and after a few less good games he recorded a much better game against Bratislava. Jabeur was responsible for the goal against Sheriff Tiraspol that sent the Greens to extra-time, eventually leading to qualification for the next qualifying round of the Champions League.
