France XV: Baille, Danty and the back legs against Namibia

2023-09-17T09:55:03.177Z

Highlights: Fabien Galthié is expected to line up most of his managers on Thursday in Marseille, with the Toulouse pillar and the Rochelle centre returning to competition. After Anthony Jelonch's return to competition last Thursday during the sluggish success against Uruguay, the Blues could record the returns of pillar Cyril Baille and center Jonathan Danty. The first had been hit in the calf and the second in the hamstring, they had both missed the matches against the All Blacks and the "Teros" in Lille.

The infirmary is gradually emptied for the XV of France. After Anthony Jelonch's return to competition last Thursday during the sluggish success against Uruguay, the Blues could record the returns of pillar Cyril Baille and center Jonathan Danty for their third match of the World Cup, Thursday (21h), against Namibia in Marseille. The first had been hit in the calf and the second in the hamstring, they had both missed the matches against the All Blacks at the Stade de France and the "Teros" in Lille.

This Sunday, during the training open to the press at their base camp in Rueil-Malmaison, they wore a blue chasuble, that of the supposed holders. Unless the staff has fun muddying the waters (which is usually not the case), three players against the Namibians should be renewed: second-line Cameron Woki, third-line Anthony Jelonch (who made his return to competition last Thursday) and young winger Louis Bielle-Biarrey, author of a try at the Pierre-Mauroy stadium. He could be preferred to Gabin Villière, if we rely on the game of chasubles this Sunday.

For the rest and before the last group match against Italy, on October 6, most of the executives should be present in Marseille. Notably the hinge Antoine Dupont-Matthieu Jalibert, the back Thomas Ramos, the hooker Meato Mauvaka and Uini Atonio on the right of the scrum. Fabien Galthié will reveal Tuesday noon his team composition for this match against the supposedly weakest team of the pool.

Probable line-up of the XV of France against Namibia, this Thursday (21h in Marseille):
Ramos - Penaud, Fickou, Danty, Bielle-Biarrey - (o) Jalibert, (m) Dupont - Ollivon, Alldritt, Jelonch - Flament, Woki - Atonio, Mauvaka, Baille.
